Entry

  • Minimum PGY2+
  • Prospective approval to train in a RANZCOG accredited training position
  • Annual three-stage selection process:
    1. Selection for Training in New Zealand
    2. Selection for the Provincial Integrated Training Program (PITP) in Australia
    3. Selection for remaining Australian states/territories

Training

  • 48 months Core Training
  • 24 months Advanced Training

Other

  • Core Training must be across at least two different hospitals with a minimum 46 weeks away from the trainee’s ‘home’ hospital and 23 weeks in a rural hospital
  • Advanced Training includes compulsory modules of 26 weeks in Generalist Obstetrics and 26 weeks in Generalist Gynaecology
