Duration

  • 5 years full time
  • Offers flexible training options
  • Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may apply

Entry

  • Minimum PGY2+
  • No more than 12 months (of the 2 years after graduating) may be spent in any combination of anaesthesia, intensive care or pain medicine
  • Must be appointed to an ANZCA accredited training position

Training

5 years supervised training comprising:

  • 6 months Introductory Training (IT)
  • 18 months Basic Training (BT)
  • 24 months Advanced Training (AT)
  • 12 months Provisional Fellowship Training (PFT)

Other

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) course during IT
  • Emergency Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) course during AT
  • Emergency Management of Anaesthetic Crisis (EMAC) course during PFT
  • Scholar Role Activities & Specialised Study Units
